QAL offers process plant traineeships to provide people with all the necessary skills, on the job training and safety awareness to successfully work in an operations environment. Recruits will emerge from the two-year traineeship with a nationally accredited Certificate III in Process Plant Operations. Keep an eye on the current vacancies page for current opportunities.
We are committed to providing quality training to ensure a skilled and talented workforce for our future. You will learn your trade in a supportive environment with a dedicated apprentice trainer and using the best possible equipment.
Each year, we recruit apprentices in the fields of Fitting/Turning and Electrical/Instrumentation. We advertise annually for our apprentice program in July. Please view our vacancies during this time for further information and how to apply.
Our Graduate Program is designed for recent graduates moving from their undergraduate university studies into the workforce. Through the support of committed mentors, graduates participate in a development program including induction and field placements throughout the plant. Graduates are given an opportunity to build an experience base within operational and project environments and are encouraged to pursue additional professional endeavours.
Any vacancies for our graduate program will be advertised on our website, usually around July.
We employ university students in their penultimate year for 10-12 weeks, from late November to early February. Our program aims to give students specific project work that contributes to plant operations, benefiting both QAL and each student’s career development. Our vacation students are employed in the same disciplines as our graduates. We begin advertising for our vacation program during July of each year. Please view our vacancies during this time for further information.
